Rev. Yvonne T. Gilmore is currently Associate Dean of the Disciples Divinity House of the University of Chicago. From 2007-13, she was the founding pastor of New Song Community Church, a diverse urban congregation in Columbus, OH, that was dually aligned with the Disciples and the United Church of Christ. She is committed to the preparation of “thought leaders,” and she continues to serve as project director the Constructive Theologies Project and a core trainer for Reconciliation Ministry.
Gilmore is a poet and a spoken word artist. She has preached, lectured, and/or performed at varied educational institutions and denominational events. As a student of the prophetic tradition, her voice also is included in “Praise for the Mercy of God,” Winged Words: Prayers for Common Worship & Common Life; and “Politics, Media Priests & Pulpits: Losing Grasp of What’s Real,” Split Ticket: Independent Faith in a Time of Partisan Politics.
